Patient portal for phenylketonuria (PKU)
A GTelG-compliant patient portal for MedUni Innsbruck: patients send dried-blood-spot cards to the lab, results flow straight into the portal, and clinicians are notified automatically. Login with ID Austria.
The task
People with phenylketonuria have to monitor their blood values continuously. The path from blood spot to clinical feedback needs to be as short and safe as possible — in a system that meets Austrian health-data law (GTelG) and stays simple for patients to use.
The solution
Direct lab flow
Dried-blood-spot cards go to the lab; measured values flow directly into the portal, no detours.
Automatic notifications
Clinicians are notified automatically — feedback to patients gets faster.
GTelG & ID Austria

Context
The portal is one of several clinical systems emergo builds for MedUni Innsbruck — as a data processor we meet the corresponding security and data-protection standards day to day. The same proven platform template also powers the Austrian Genome Project's study portal.
